October 20——With the completion of the third expansion phase, ebm-papst, the world's leading manufacturer of fans and motors, has officially opened its plant in Xi'an, China.

ebm-papst began operations in Xi'an in 2019 and has been continuously developing the site ever since. The plant covers an area of approximately 60,000 m² and employs around 1,000 people. The latest expansion, which cost around 30 million euros, will create around 500 jobs. The completion of the plant marks another milestone in the group's “Local for Local” strategy.

"With our 'Local for Local' glocalization strategy, which has been in place since 2017, we are locally and independently positioned in the regions of Europe, Asia-Pacific and MEA, as well as the Americas. The Chinese market has always been of great importance to ebm-papst, and we already have a localization rate of around 90 percent in China. 'Local for Local' has three clear advantages for us: customer proximity, independence in the supply chain, and the reduction of emissions," says Dr. Klaus Geissdoerfer, CEO of the ebm-papst Group.

A particular focus is on the continuous expansion of local development activities. "The interaction between the local R&D departments at our two Chinese locations – Shanghai and Xi'an – enables us to serve our customers in China in the best and most flexible way possible," emphasizes Thomas Nuernberger, CSO ebm-papst Group and President & CEO Air Technology APAC & MEA. "Xi'an in particular strengthens our innovative power. With a comprehensive R&D laboratory focused on product reliability, durability, and adaptability in a wide range of application scenarios, we are specifically driving forward the development of energy-efficient EC fans, digital ventilation solutions, and retrofit concepts there. Close cooperation with local universities also creates a strong basis for pioneering technologies and the promotion of young talent."

It is reported that the Xi'an Economic and Technological Development Zone will further sharpen its focus on the high-end fan and motor equipment sector, with targeted efforts to attract upstream and downstream enterprises. This approach aims to provide a worry-free environment for ebm-papst’s growth, foster collaboration opportunities, and encourage more outstanding companies like ebm-papst to “take root in the Zone and expand their reach globally.” (Zhaojing)

依必安派特自2019年起在西安开展运营，并持续推进工厂建设。目前，工厂占地约6万平方米，现有员工约1,000人。最新一期扩建投资约3,000万欧元，将新增约500个就业岗位。此次正式投产，标志着该集团“立足本土，服务本土”战略的又一重要里程碑。
